THIS SEASON'S HIGHLIGHTS

  • Daily Reflections. We begin another year of daily essays and hope that you, our loyal reader, continue to visit the site and give us support.  We have found that nature photographs add depth and links to our site and thus we hope to use them more during 2007 if financial resources allow.  Our ultimate goal is for a photo for every essay; we went from occasional photos in 2005 to one per week in 2006 and appreciate the positive feedback you have given for our works.

  • 25th Anniversary: Earthhealing will be twenty-five years old in early summer of this year.  The project began as a way of earning funds for the Appalachian Institute (now defunct) from a grant from the National Science Foundation.  The first area of concentration was the Environmental Resource Assessment Service (ERAS) of which over 200 have been performed up to 2006.  The second was a series of over 100 videos on appropriate technology subjects, about half of which were funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.  The third phase initiated at the beginning of 2004 involves our Daily Reflections and other special contributions on environmental subjects found on our Earthhealing website.  As of the beginning of 2007 some 1,648,000 visits have been received from 88 countries worldwide.

  • Healing Appalachia: Sustainable Living Through Appropriate Technology will be coming off the University Press of Kentucky in early spring.  This contains a quarter of a century of work by Al Fritsch and Paul Gallimore.

  • We are pleased to announce that a new contributor, Lanz Bidault will join our website as a special guest later this year.

  • In an effort to spread the word about our site, new links (and reciprocal links) are now being sought.  Please contact us if you are interested in linking to Earth Healing.  Free banners for your website are available!

The term "Earth Healing" (EH) has been used by our Environmental Resource Assessment Service (ERAS) for two decades. Through ERAS, we have assisted over 200 groups in 34 states and Canada. EH has been used on our weekly television shows on WOBZ-TV at London, Kentucky for the past six years. EH was also the name of a book by Al Fritsch and Bob Sears. And finally, it is now being used for this website and associated non-profit organization, Earth Healing, Inc. We hope you enjoy your visit to this site and invite you to join our mailing list!
